Since 2023, ne’ma has collaborated with over 300 hospitality entities across the UAE. Among them are Sofitel Dubai The Obelisk, whose leadership helps shape more sustainable industry practices, and City Seasons Al Hamra Abu Dhabi, whose commitment to reducing food waste is shown through reporting on the ne’ma data hub. This joint effort enables us to track food waste, identify root causes, and build national indices that support long-term progress toward the UAE’s goal of halving food loss and waste by 2030.
The UAE Food Loss and Waste Baseline Study workshop brought together stakeholders from both the public and private sectors across all Emirates to establish a national baseline for measuring food loss and waste, identify actionable solutions, and reinforce ongoing commitments to its reduction.
